| Space Expo Saturday: Challenger Moon Mission & Space Events! | The Public Challenger Mission 'Return to the Moon' introduces you to the teamwork, technology and drama involved in space travel. Activities include a Rover Landing Challenge in the Tinkering Studio, Ask a Planetary Scientist table (featuring the Magic Planet) and Hands-on Activities at the E-bar. Mars events all weekend include "7 Minutes of Terror" NASA video, the games Xbox Kinect Rover Landing and Spacecraft 3D, and a chat with Professor Fleet! | Cruise the Red Planet in a special Planetarium presentation, follow ongoing NASA coverage with Jet Propulsion Lab and NASA scientists, 'Ask an Astronomer' your space-related questions, have your photo taken with a life-size photo display of Curiosity, or view the skies with SD Astronomy Association. Then watch the live NASA feed of Curiosity's landing on Mars in the Heikoff Dome Theater at 10:31PM as the Mars Science Lab mission, the most ambitious and complex in the history of robotic space exploration, begins an investigation into whether conditions have been favorable for microbial life and searches for clues about possible past life. | At Saturday Science Club for Girls, marine scientists need help to rid the ocean of plastic and other debris that are harmful to marine life and the Earth. Working in teams, girls in grades 5 - 8 will design and construct a device to collect trash from different strata of the ocean-without harming sea creatures. Are you up to the Challenge? | The Fleet would not be the same without people like Kwincy Smith. Kwincy has served over 170 hours, starting as a volunteer for Summer Camp 2011, continuing with Winter Camp, Spring Camp & Young Scientists-and she has no plans to stop. She loves working with little campers and their enthusiasm for learning, constantly amazed at how much they know and their ability to teach her new things. A senior at The Preuss School UCSD, she hopes to attend SDSU and become an elementary school teacher, putting her hours here to good use. Thanks Kwincy for all of your hard work!
