| We sold out of $2 eclipse viewers and glasses at North Star Science Store for the May solar eclipse, so get yours early this time! Last chance 'til 2117 to view a Transit of Venus as it passes in front of the sun - among the rarest of planetary alignments, last seen in 2004. The transit begins at 3:06PM, visible inside the sun's disk at 3:23PM. Venus will travel across the face of the sun until sunset at 7:54PM. This is literally a last-in-a-lifetime event. UCSD's Dr. Howard Taras explores the role of Community Agencies in finding enough people for medical research studies, especially those with a specific disease or from a particular community. | The Fleet Community Forum hosts 15+ teams of middle and high school students competing to design and program an autonomous robot that can find its way through a set of obstacles, locate Infra-Red and visible beacons, and activate a switch at the home station. Saturday will be trial runs, technical presentations and robot drag races; main competition on Sunday. Stop by to cheer on your favorite robot!
