Comets, Asteroids, Meteors quickly became the go-to source of information for those curious about comets PANSTARRS and ISON, the very real threat of catastrophic impact from the Russian meteor and several close calls with asteroids. Due to popular demand--and since space phenomena continue to make news--we've extended the exhibition's stay at the Fleet. Come and explore the recent discoveries and the related cutting-edge science. More>>

Co-Chairs Lori Fleet-Martin and Nancy Robertson invite you to celebrate the Fleet Science Center's past, present and future. The entertaining and interactive evening will include casino games of chance, dancing to the Fabulous Ultratones, yummy cocktails, a marvelous meal, engaging science demonstrations, a tribute to esteemed Executive Director Dr. Jeffrey Kirsch and a peek at our innovative future.

Nano - Quantum Corral
NanoDay at the Fleet will explore the miniscule world of atoms, molecules and nanoscale forces. A range of exciting programs will demonstrate the special and unexpected properties found at the nanoscale, showcase nano materials with spectacular promise, examine tools used by nanoscientists and invite discussion of technology and society. Hail and Farewell. Our Beloved Dr. Jeffrey Kirsch Retires on June 30!
Dr. K
After 30 amazing years of stewardship, Dr. Kirsch will retire as Executive Director of the Fleet, where he notably changed the face of science education in San Diego. Dr. Kirsch, former chair of the Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) and founding president of the Balboa Park Cultural Partnership, is recognized as a pioneer and major contributor to the production and exhibition of IMAX films in science museums. He will next serve as consulting producer on an upcoming film about the Panama Canal.
